Call for Abstracts | Due July 1 (Closed)

You are invited to prepare an extended abstract for presentation at the 2024 AI in Health Conference brought to you by The Ken Kennedy Institute at Rice University.

Artificial intelligence, data, and computing are the cornerstone of progressive health applications shaping the future of healthcare and public health. On September 10-11, 2024  you have an opportunity to present your findings to an audience that includes researchers, engineers, clinicians, and entrepreneurs at the forefront of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The agenda for the conference includes invited keynote speakers, technical talks, an exhibit hall, networking receptions, and poster presentations, as well as add-on workshops.

We invite prospective speakers to submit abstracts that
highlight algorithms, use-cases, and solutions that support data-driven discovery and decision-making in healthcare and public health for the next decade. The themes for this year's technical program will be determined based on abstract submissions.

Accepted abstracts will be asked to deliver a 15-20 minute in-person presentation, including Q&A, as part of the conference program on September 10-11, 2024. Presentations will be recorded and published online on the Ken Kennedy Institute’s YouTube channel. Please do not submit an abstract if you are not comfortable presenting in person. Presenters will need to sign a Media Release Form.

  • July 1: Abstract Submissions Due

  • July 15: Abstract Acceptance Notice | Extended to July 19 due to Hurricane Beryl

  • September 10-11: Technical Talk Sessions

Please use the following guidelines when preparing your extended abstract submission:

  • One page (not including graphics, bio, and references as needed).

  • Extended abstracts should contain: title; list of all author(s) with identifying and contact information; short abstract (not to exceed 350 words); up to 5 keywords; followed by short sections covering: (1) Motivation, (2) Hypothesis, (3) Methods and Results, and (4) Conclusion. Please review the abstract template.

  • Extended abstracts must be uploaded as a PDF in EasyChair.

  • The short abstract and the keywords from your extended abstract must also be pasted into the appropriate text box in the web submission form in EasyChair.

Note 1: This conference will consider and can accept abstracts for work that have previously been presented.

Note 2: Presentation proposals that appear to the program committee as “marketing” will be rejected. Abstracts with a strong and compelling customer use-case with the focus on the innovation knowledge discovery enabled by the solution more than the product can be considered. In cases where you think a marketing message may be a concern, we strongly encourage you to partner with a customer and highlight users and relevant use-cases. Vendors interested in engaging are also encouraged to explore sponsorship.

Complimentary Registration: Upon abstract acceptance, the presenting speaker for the technical talks (1 per talk) will receive a complimentary registration code.
