Call for Posters 

The next call for posters will open Spring 2026.

​

We are pleased to announce our poster winners for the 2025 AI in Health Conference at Rice University, hosted by the Ken Kennedy Institute. This year's conference featured multiple in-person poster sessions and a poster competition with three categories: (1) Best Poster Overall, (2) Best Presentation, and (3) People's Choice. ​

1. Best Poster Overall: #5 "Understanding the Burn Wound Microbiome: Comparing Traditional Wound Cultures to Next Generation Sequencing Technology" by Riley Watson, Vivian Tat, Katherine Araya, Sarah Alnemrat, Juquan Song, Amina El Ayadi, Jennifer Narvaez, Kamil Khanipov, Steven Wolf, George Golovko (University of Texas Medical Branch)

People's Choice: #12 "Bioaersol Dynamics During The 2024 Boston Marathon" by Katherine Araya, Vivian Tat, Sarah Alnemrat, Riley Watson, Kostiantyn Botnar, Hema Narra, George Golovko, Kamil Khanipov (The University of Texas Medical Branch); Sean Kinahan, David Kimmel, Christine Tomlinson (DHS S&T, OSE, HAC-TC); Shanna Ratnesar-Shumate (The University of Miami)

Poster Submission Details: 

Poster submissions are open to students and postdocs from all universities. While relevance to industry is a consideration, it should be interpreted very broadly. Keep in mind that the healthcare industry, AI industry, and academia participate in this conference. 

​

  • Spring 2026: Poster Submissions Due 

  • Summer 2026: Poster Acceptance Notice

  • TBD: Poster Presentation Reception

​

Submissions should include:

  • Title of poster

  • 1-2 paragraph abstract

  • Authors with affiliations

Note 1: If you do not already have an EasyChair account you will be required to create one to access the submission page. 

 

Note 2: The Ken Kennedy Institute does not offer printing services; printing is the responsibility of the presenter. Printed posters cannot be larger than 48” by 48” (this is a requirement). Some PowerPoint poster templates can be found hereMore details about on-site set-up times will be provided closer to the event date.

*Please note the poster reception is an in-person event and cannot be virtually attended.

This is a great opportunity to build your resume, show off your work, and network with our conference attendees from across the industry. We look forward to receiving your submissions!
